Best plain custard on the market

Posted by Mark A on 19th Jan 2019

Custards and deserts are a funny thing to work with because they generally require longer steep times or its paring ratio with other flavors can sometimes be tricky a bit. The big key is in steeping! This custard is a bit pricy but is well worth it, it is a gem for a plain custard without the vanilla notes. It works well with other flavors even other custards; this flavor is on the top list with CAP V1 & V2. I have noticed from reviews most everyone is using this flavor under 10%, for me I have been going a full 20% flavor profile for a stand-alone custard and with a week steep time with also warm bath steep; it will steep to a nice amber color with a full body flavor. You can do a fast batch with this, but it is highly recommended to allow a proper steep time this applies to most desert flavors. But on that note, everyone’s tastes are different on how one can taste or pick up on flavors and flavor strengths. This one is a definite must have in anyone’s dessert mix arsenal of flavors, along with Capella’s. If you just want a plain good ole custard, this is it!

    Contains Acetoin

Posted by Courtney Inlow on 30th Jun 2018

When I bought this I was under the impression that it was free of the major chemicals to try and avoid. Most of the other brands are clearly marked if they have them. This is delicious if you don't mind the acetoin. I was just disappointed because I was looking for something without that.

    Amazing. Best custard.

Posted by Unknown on 26th Jun 2018

INW doesn't disappoint. This custard has become a staple in several of my mixes. It is so creamy and delicious. CREAMY. Especially when mixed with TFA sweet cream. The price is high, but totally worth it!

Use it in vanilla custard with cap v1 or TPA adds a little more depth to the recipe

By far the best custard there is

Posted by Ricksha on 15th Mar 2017

A super, super custard. This is by far the best custard there is today. I've used CAP and FA custards for years in countless recipes. Both have their strong points, but are no match for this well rounded Custard. There is no lemony-zesty taste added, just a pure plain and simple, good, deep, eggy, tasty and not too rich and not too sweet custard. Exactly what you need to make a custard base mix. Also, this custard is good enough as a single flavor. It is recommended you stay below 4% in your mixes with this flavor. Do yourself a favor and combine this custard with Inawera's Biscuit - its exceptional.

    EGGY!

Posted by Unknown on 19th Jan 2017

This is a great custard. Deep, rich, eggy, creamy. I give it at least a 3 week steep with no heat other than warming it enough to thin the mix to shake & mix easier. no heat after first shake. Love this stuff!
