Propylene glycol is the primary solvent in most of our water-soluble food flavorings. These flavors are highly concentrated, so some users may find it helpful to dilute them, especially for small-batch projects. If you choose to make a dilution, we recommend using propylene glycol rather than water, particularly if the dilution will not be consumed right away.
Propylene glycol is widely used across the food, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) classifies it as 'generally recognized as safe' (GRAS) for use in food products.
